Spiritual Roots

When you look at this picture I took, what do you see?  Most people would say a almost dead tree or a tree barely making it.  But what I see, is much different and much deeper.  First of all, I need to tell you that I just love nature, especially trees and spending time in nature is by far one of the most favorite things I do.  I get a stronger and deeper connection with God and receive so much joy while being in nature.  So back to the picture.  What I see is a very strong tree!!!  Even though a big storm stripped him of almost everything, he still had strong enough roots to carry him through, survive and become fruitful again.  So now let me ask you if a strong storm/trial came into your life and stripped you of almost everything you had, (death in the family or close friend,  bad health report from doctor, you lose your job, get cheated on, stolen from, tornado takes your house, bad car wreck, economic recession, etc) would you have strong enough spiritual roots in the Lord, Jesus Christ, to carry you through, survive and become fruitful again.  Think about it….

Luke 6:46-49    The Wise and Foolish Builders

46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Inspiration behind Blossoming out of the Valley

Whether you are in a pit of despair, like I was, with issues too numerous to count, or you—like many people—have one nagging issue or insecurity that keeps you from freely living, God is ready to help you. Just as He uniquely pursued me, God will uniquely pursue you. Just as He brought me freedom by walking me through a unique healing journey, He can do the same for you.

The inspiration to write the book Blossoming out of the Valley, came from my desire to encourage others to move forward on their own journeys to becoming healthy, whole individuals who are able to be love and to give love to those they encounter. I hope that the book will help you recognize that God is mercifully and lovingly pursuing you, and that you will choose to turn to face Him. I hope that sharing the ways God helped me heal from my chaos will inspire you to allow God to help you climb out of your dark valley into a relationship with Him that is full of freedom, peace and love.

Come Rest In His Presence

God desires to heal and restore all of us, no matter where we are on our journeys or how deep we are in our dark valleys. Learning to be still before God is the foundation of our delivery and our freedom. When we truly begin to “be still and know that [He] is God” (Psalm 46:10), our lives will begin to transform. We cannot rest in the presence of God and walk away unchanged—He specializes in our complete restoration. And, we can approach God with confidence that He will respond to our seeking. God assures us in Scripture that He “will be found by you” when “you seek [Him] with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:14, 13). We are encouraged to “come near to God and He will come near to you” (James 4:8). Come rest in His presence, and allow Him to reveal to you His transforming power and love.
